ABOUT ME

IMG_6475.jpg

From SHSAT and SAT/ACT prep to college/graduate school admissions and first internships, I’ve developed a deep understanding of the college and career readiness space over my six years in the industry.

As an educator, I take pride in my ability to help students identify their unique strengths and support them through sometimes-stressful processes. I enjoy working in a remote environment, as it allows me to work from anywhere, reach students from around the world, and find time for my creative pursuits.

While watching students get into their dream schools is amazing, I feel proudest of my ability to encourage young people and help them tell their stories.

Outside of education, I am an Equity actor who recently toured North America as the Fairy Godmother in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. The parallels between my work in education and my creative life are definitely not lost on me. When not teaching or performing, I enjoy writing (for the page, stage, or screen), podcasting, traveling, cooking, analyzing Kpop performances, and trying to find the best restaurants in New York City.

About: About

EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

My professional values can be summed up as follows:

ADAPTABILITY

No two students are the same, so no tutoring experience is the same. I meet students where they are and help them to put forth the best versions of themselves.

ETHICS

I give students the tools they need to succeed on their own. I also work to deliver great value to families through transparent and conscientious processes.

GROWTH

I aim to help students develop as people, just as I am constantly working to become a better teacher and coach.

HUMANITY

Sometimes test material is extremely dry, or writer’s block gets the best of us - when that happens, we move through it with grace and humor.

EXCELLENCE

I hold myself and my students to a high standard while recognizing that we don’t need to be perfect to do great work.
